First ScotRail's 156493 arrives at Derby Station on the evening of Monday October 16, before reversing and moving to the Litchurch Lane reception siding.
The three units refreshed and repainted by Bombardier during October were: 156477, returned to Corkerhill on Wednesday 4th (Photo), 156476, returned on Friday 13th, and 156467, south on 5th (Photo), and north on Tuesday 24th. Two units at Derby Litchurch lane at the end of October were 156493, arrived 16th, and 156465 which arrived 25th (Photo). |
At the end of October the last 3 units in ScotRail Railways livery were 156450,474,485.

On Monday 2 October, 156492 was working the 1S50 06:49 Newcastle - Glasgow Central service when it ran in to a herd of cows on the line at Gullyhill, 1 mile north of Dumfries. Fortunately the train stayed on the rails and no one on board was seriously injured, however 17 cows were killed in the incident. The 1S50 went forward to Kilmarnock where it was terminated, before running ECS to Corkerhill via Barassie. 156492 was moved to Glasgow Works the following week and spent the remainder of the month there. |
Northern. 156487 was back in traffic after C6 overhaul at Glasgow Works. (Photo). It was replaced by 156484, also of Neville Hill, which arrived in Glasgow on October 11th.

156409 ran between Ipswich and Peterborough on both Friday 6th and Saturday 14 in place of a class 170 unit.
The ACoRP Community Rail Festival 2006 was held in the Darlington area on the 23-24 of September.
Northern Rail's 156461 was on display at Darlington Banktop Station, along with GBRf Loco 66717 and Transpennine's 185125. The other Northern Rail unit, 156469, was used on Saltburn - Bishop Auckland services. The two 156s are pictured together at Darlington on Saturday 23rd. Of note is that 156461 has had its promotional vinyls replaced with the text now on a pale background. |
On the evening of Friday 22, a Community Rail Awards ceremony was held at Shildon, and 156461 and 156469 were provided for a special train from Newcastle to Shildon and return. Between the workings, the units were stabled at Darlington station. (Photo)

156499 came back to Corkerhill on Tuesday 5th, 156462 on Thursday 14th (Photo), and 156456 went south on the 6th and returned on Monday the 25th.
The two units at Derby at the end of the month were 156477 (arrived 15th) and 156476 (arrived 26th September).
156461 has had vinyls promoting the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway added to its Northern livery. It was given a launch ceremony at Ravenglass station on Wednesday 16th August whilst working the 10:06 Preston - Carlisle service. (Photos) (News) The unit is seen here at Bolton on 28 August 2006. |
Northern. The lastest unit to go for C6 overhaul at Glasgow Works is 156480, which headed north on Friday 21th. (Photo).
First ScotRail. Two 156s were refreshed at Derby Works during August.
156478 returned to Corkerhill on Tuesday 15th (Photo), and 156449 went south on August 7th and returned on Thursday 24th (Photo).
The two ScotRail units at Derby at the end of August were 156499 which went south on Wednesday 16th, and 156462 south on Friday 25th (Photo).
Central Trains ran a 12-car DMU formation on Sunday 13th August, as an additional train for the 'FA Community Shield' football match at the Cardiff Millenium stadium.
The 1T66 10:20 Birmingham New Street to Cardiff Central was formed of 150255 + 150229 + 150213 + 150231 + 156401 + 156406. (Photo).

Northern Rail ran special trains for their stakeholders on Sunday 23 July. Trains ran from Liverpool via the Hope Valley and from Blackpool via Hebden Bridge, combining at Hull for a trip to Bridlington and back. Complete with headboard, 156424 + 156423 + 156452 (all in First 'Barbie livery) arrive at Bridlington.

It was replaced by 156483, another Neville Hill unit, which headed north on Friday 28th. (Photo).
Engineering work between Carlisle and Dumfries meant some alterations to through services between Newcastle and Scotland. SPT 156501 had 142088 on the rear whilst working the 1Z87 Carlisle - Newcastle service on July 24 (Photo).
